Post Basic Diploma in Trauma & Emergency Nursing

(1-year Program)

This course has been designed for registered nurses who wish to acquire the clinical knowledge and expertise and pursue work in the emergency and trauma rooms. This is a one-year program that is fully recognized by the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).

Aims & Objectives of the Course:

The aims and objectives of the course are to prepare competent nurses who will:

Be Skilled in all aspects of Accident & Emergency Care Nursing by improving the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being of the patient
Be able to use therapeutic communication skills and establish good relationships with the patient, family, and colleagues
Be able to priorities patient individual needs and implement a systematic approach to enhance nursing standards
Be able to manage and organize the unit/department as per protocols
Develop the ability to respond to changing needs in Accident & Emergency care in an analytical way
Communicate effectively in the application of the nursing process in serious cases
Develop knowledge and competency in the area of emergency
Recognize the importance of holistic care of trauma cases
Maintain a safe environment for patients and families in terms of hazards
Demonstrate effective use of problem solving skill in using the nursing process
Be able to develop skills in management and act as a manager for co-workers
